How a Jaw Crusher Works (Working Principle)

The operation of a jaw crusher mimics the chewing motion of a massive jaw, utilizing high compressive force to break hard rocks.

1. Material Entry: Raw ore is fed into the V-shaped crushing cavity, which is formed by a fixed jaw plate and a movable jaw plate.
2. Compression Crushing: Driven by an electric motor and V-belts, the heavy eccentric shaft rotates, causing the movable jaw to periodically press against the fixed jaw. The rock is crushed, split, and bent by this immense squeezing action.
3. Discharge: When the movable jaw retreats, the crushed material falls by gravity. Rocks that are small enough drop through the discharge opening at the bottom, while oversized rocks remain in the cavity for further crushing.
